Keep Wellness Simple

Have you ever felt like wellness had to be all or nothing? Like you had to have a perfect meal plan, an intense workout routine, or all the right supplements just to feel like you were “doing it right”?

I’ve been there. I used to overthink every part of the process—stressing over every bite, feeling like I had to hit a certain number on the scale, or thinking I’d “ruined everything” if I missed a workout or didn’t drink enough water one day.

But here’s what I’ve learned: wellness isn’t about perfection—it’s about consistency. And more often than not, the simplest habits are the most powerful.

Simplify Your Meals

Instead of making wellness feel like a chore, try this formula when planning meals:

✅ A source of protein
✅ A fiber-rich carb
✅ A non-starchy veggie

That’s it. No fancy recipes needed. For example:

  • Grilled chicken + quinoa + roasted broccoli
  • Ground turkey + sweet potatoes + sautéed spinach
  • Salmon + brown rice + cucumbers

I’ve also learned to lean on things like the crockpot, simple sheet pan meals, or batch-cooking proteins to make the week feel less overwhelming. On days that I know are going to be super busy (at least once a week) I grab a precook rotisserie chicken from Kwik Trip. Don’t have one near you? No worries Walmart and Costco have them too! (Bonus: it helps reduce the mental load on busy days.)

Move in a Way You Enjoy

You don’t need to spend an hour at the gym every day. Start with something sustainable:

Personally, I’ve been enjoying workouts that are 20 minutes or less, focused on strength and functionality. It feels doable, and it still counts. It all counts.

Schedule Your Wellness

I’m learning to treat my wellness like any other important appointment. If it’s not scheduled, it’s too easy to push it aside.

Here’s what this can look like:

  • Putting your workouts in your calendar
  • Blocking off time to prep food or pack lunches
  • Scheduling a check-in with yourself or your coach once a week

It may sound small, but honoring those appointments adds up to lasting change.

Surround Yourself with Support

Whether it’s your friends, family, or an online community—you need people who remind you why you started.

That’s why I created my virtual groups like Belong-Motivate-Inspire and my seasonal challenges. We’re stronger together, and having support can make all the difference on the days you don’t feel like showing up.

If you’re a mom who’s craving community, accountability, and grace-based encouragement, consider joining us.

Let Faith Fuel Your Journey

When I root my wellness in my faith, everything shifts. I’m reminded that:

  • My body is a temple, not a project.
  • I can rely on God’s strength when I feel weak.
  • My worth doesn’t come from my weight or my willpower.

It’s okay to start small. Drink the water. Go for the walk. Say a quick prayer. Choose a nourishing meal. Let God guide the rest.
